Employee-Driven Efficiencies

Tell us about yourself and your proposed Employee-Driven Efficiency

Guidelines:

The Board of Supervisors launched Innovate 2020 on January 7, 2020 to encourage innovation to improve government processes and efficiencies across County departments and beyond. The Employee-Driven Efficiencies program invites County employees to submit innovative ideas for consideration of an Innovate 2020 monetary award.

At a minimum, submissions must include the following:

  • A practical solution to an identifiable challenge, or a plan that would increase the efficiency of a County process or program. The submission must clearly define the challenge it seeks to address and provide a detailed solution.
  • Demonstrate a measurable cost savings or increased revenue to a County department. For example, cost savings can be realized through reductions in staff time or a reduction in supply or equipment usage.
  • Identify an immediate impact on a process or program.

Application process:

  • Submit the completed Employee Driven Efficiencies web form on or before Friday, July 31, 2020. The web form can be found at www.innovate2020.sbcounty.gov.  If additional pages are required, please submit the application along with additional pages to innovate2020@sbcounty.gov.
  • You will receive a confirmation email and reference number for your records.
  • Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Innovate 2020 committee in July 2020 to identify the best ideas.
  • All finalists will showcase their ideas at a special Board of Supervisors meeting in September 2020.
  • Innovate 2020 Award winners will be announced in October 2020.

Award:

  • Innovate 2020 Awards will be granted to the best ideas as evaluated by the Innovate 2020 committee.
